Samantha's approach to horsemanship
Hello! My name is Samantha Whiteside, I run Bradford Equestrian independently and my goal is to bring a focused, hands-on approach to every session. The work I do begins with your horse and is paced to build trust, communication, and sound habits without rushing the process. I have 15 years of riding experience and the past five years of training. I have experience training thoroughbreds in eventing, I have show jumping experience up to 1m45. My hope is to offer you as the rider basic, helpful training for your horse whether that be daily exercise - just moving their body, or showing off your beautiful horse in a rated show.
I have shown up to novice in Eventing and 1m 25 in show jumping. Trained at home to Prelim level. I have shown in Montana, Oregon, Washington, North Carolina, and Florida. Some commonly known places have been WEC, Tryon, and Rebecca Farms. So whether your horse is learning early foundations, returning to routine, or seeking steadier support, my goal stays the same: calm progress that creates a more confident partner.
What guides the work
Sometimes riding your horse can become difficult and upsetting, I hope to be a helping hand when it comes to reaching your goals. Horses and riders are all different. No one has the same story, it is my intention to listen and to help. If you have an old horse who just needs grooming lmk! Or if you have a youngster that you'd like to see some mileage on? Let me know!
Every exercise supports a bigger picture—better balance, clearer communication, and more confidence for the horse. It's not about how high you can jump or how fancy your horse looks, it's about true communication with your horse, understanding what commands mean and prioritizing safety. Horses are beautiful creatures that don't speak our language, sometimes that conversation you have with your horse can be confusing, I hope to make that translation easier ;)
Thoughtful handling, clear owner guidance, and time to practice are part of every program. Horses need a lot of care, I have been a working student for many years, I hope to offer some relief to horse owners knowing their horse is loved and well taken care of.
